I have recently acquired the Batman Noir: The Killing Joke US edition, published last August. I was a bit reluctant to dip in again as I already own the French B&W edition published last year. But now I am very happy to have bought it for two reasons:

• if the French edition is a B&W adaptation of the original edition, this Batman Noir edition uses the 2008 art pages reworked by Brian Bolland for the Deluxe edition
• this edition features 50 pages of extra content not included in the French edition

Articles Update September 2016 part 1

Dark Knight III The Master Race series is accumulating delays, and now issue #6 in its collector's form will not be published until November. In the meantime the associated article have been updated with issue #5.

This collection became a deception. Since issue #4 there are only 23 pages instead of 28 for the main story. In the digital edition this was partly compensate by adding 4 pencil art pages, and the five variant covers. In this so-called collector's edition there is nothing like that.

Articles Update July 2016

The article regarding the signed hardcover editions of Alan Moore's Light of Thy Countenance, and Neonomicon (that includes The Courtyard) has been split in two separates articles. Originally I had chose this "one article two books" configuration because the article about Light of Thy Countenance was very, very short. But on one hand, it will be the case for other Avatar limited signed hardcover that I will write about (Crossed +100 Vol 1 for instance), and on the other hand, Light of Thy Countenance is not part of Moore's take on Lovecraft universe (i.e. The Courtyard/Neonomicon/Providence).

Shortly, I will upload an article about Alan Moore's The Courtyard B&W Deluxe Hardcover Set.

Articles Update June 2016 part 2

I was asked to do a printing/paper quality comparison between the Frank Miller & Klaus Janson Daredevil Omnibus (2nd print) and the corresponding Graphitti Designs Visionaries collection, which was a very good suggestion. Thus I have added a few pictures for a side by side comparison in the Omnibus article, as well as a picture of the bidding in the Visionaries article. Story short, and notwithstanding the size and extra content differences, these editions are very similar.

I take this opportunity to point out that I have included a contact form in this blog (on the bottom of the right hand side section) if anybody have general suggestions to make about its contents (or just to simply discuss our passion).

Re-reading my article about the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Black Dossier Absolute Edition, I have find it too bitter (regarding my expectations and the authors expectations), and lacking illustrations of interior pages (in fact there were none). Now that there have been water under the bridge I have added numerous picture of that brilliant piece of art.

Two very recent articles regarding the French reprint of Aliens Salvation (aka Aliens Absolution) have been upgrading with the addition of the limited colored collector edition of this book. In English here, et en français c'est ici.
