Miracleman Artifact Edition

Script by Alan Moore, art by Garry Leach, Alan Davis, John Ridgway, Mick Austin, Rick Weitch, John Totleben. Full credits are detailed further in this article. All illustrations are ©Marvel Comics and Dez Skinn.

Although dated August 2015 in the credit page, this book was published by IDW in November 2015 (ISBN: 978-1-63140-392-7, Artifact Edition #4, 15.5 x 20 inches or 39 x 51 cm, $125 for 144 pages), and was printed on thick mat paper. One of the picture below is for size comparison with the Frank Miller's Daredevil Artifact edition (yes, this Miracleman is quite huge), and one of the original Eclipse comics. There is also a picture of the sewn binding (the book has been printed in China).

Second and third of cover feature different illustrations. This edition, referenced as Artifact Edition #4, has been designed by Randall Dahlk and edited by Scott Dunbier.

The book doesn't feature any introduction by the artists. Below there's also a picture displaying the first table of contents out of three of the main part of this book. As it can be clearly stated, just a few of the original art pages before coloring (inked, cleaned and lettered) are printed here (from Warrior Magazine and the Eclipse comics series), hence the "Artifact" line denomination. Here is a very subjective selection for each artist.

The material originally published in UK Warrior Magazine, was then reprinted on comics form in the USA (issue #1 to 8) after renaming the hero.

The main course of this edition is the section dedicated to John Totleben art (including painted covers), and luckily numerous stunning pages from issue #15 and #16 are included here.

  1. Got this after I found this post (got hit with french custom fees as a side effect, ouch) - great book but a disapointment nevertheless, they've been too stingy with the pages from the last 2 issues, I would have loved to have them entirely so it's very frustrating!
