Ronin Absolute Edition

Script Frank Miller, art Frank Miller with Lynn Varley. All material (except Jenette Kahn introduction) is ©Frank Miller and used for illustration purpose only.

This beautiful glossy oversized slipcase (8.5 x 12.8 inches, 21.5 x 32.5 cm) designed by Amelia Grohman was published in October 2008 by DC Comics (ISBN: 978-1-4012-1908-6, cover price 99$, my copy is a first print).

The main book inside comes with a glossy fully illustrated dust jacket. It contains the collected Ronin originally published in six parts in 1983 and 1984, printed on mat quality paper (328 pages).

The inner cover of the book is also fully illustrated, as well as the second and third of cover displaying different illustrations. It features a black ribbon bookmark.

After the credits pages, there is 2 pages introduction written by Jenette Kahn exclusive to this edition. It is followed by two pages "from the diary of Casey McKenna" that I am not able to source (they doesn't appear in the French edition that I also own, so it's perhaps exclusive to this edition).

Then comes the main material. Each part of the original 6 issues mini-series is introduced by its wraparound virgin cover (plus sometimes enhanced excerpts). Original fold-out pages are indeed in their fold-out form.

This edition ends with a bonus section of 14 pages. The pictures below display them all:

    1. Hi, money put aside, I would definitely go with the Gallery Edition. The art is transcended in oversized B&W and there is very few exclusive extra in the Absolute Edition.
