Gaston 15 1978-1981 Fac-similés L'Intégrale Version Originale

Publié par Dupuis sous label Marsu Productions en Avril 2015 (ISBN : 978-2-80016-331-4, 42.5 x 30 cm ou 16.7 x 11.8 inches, 119 €, 120 pages), l'ouvrage se présente à nouveau en tirage de luxe dos toilé vert, et papier mat de qualité supérieure. Cette édition dont on doit à nouveau la réalisation à Dugomier, est limitée à 2200 exemplaires numérotés (mon exemplaire est le #678). Une des photos ci-dessous permet de se donner une idée du format géant de cette édition par rapport au fac-similé d'un album classique).
Cet ouvrage de la collection éditée par Marsu Productions, et désormais sous © Dupuis, consacrée à la publication des travaux de Franquin à un format proche des planches originales est le quinzième du matériel estampillé "Gaston" (voir aussi photo en fin d'article). L'éditeur propose des scans couleurs pour la partie principale (avec traces d'esquisses, de gommages, de commentaires de l'auteur à destination de l'imprimerie etc..), mais certaines planches demeurent en scans N&B nettoyés: gags #839 (1 planche), 861 (double planche), 1/2 et 3/4 de planche des Spirou #2189 et 2193, #874 (1 planche), et gag sur 2 pages du Spirou #2278 (donc 8 pages en tout). Pas de planches issues de bromures à signaler pour ce tome, par contre le format de reproduction est légèrement inférieur aux premiers ouvrages afin de ne pas tronquer les signatures illustrées de Franquin. Les second et troisième de couverture présentent la même illustration sur le classique fond vert (voir ci-dessous).

Après la table des références bibliographiques (quelle planche a été publiée dans quel numéro de Spirou) , l'ouvrage se poursuit par 66 pages proposant le matériel dessiné par Franquin pour le rédactionnel du magazine Spirou (dessin en bas à gauche des couvertures hebdomadaires, publicités, couverture de recueils ou d'albums etc.) à l'époque de la prépublication des strips (1974-1977). Les 26 dernières pages sont consacrées à des témoignages du travail de Franquin en fac-similé.
Notons pour ce recueil la reproduction 14 pages en facs-similés consacrées à des travaux préparatoires.

Locke & Key Oversized Hardcover Special Edition Collection
Script by Joe Hill, art by Gabriel Rodriguez with color by Jay Fotos and lettering by Robbie Robbins. All illustrations used here are ©Joe Hill and IDW.
This article deals with a collection published by IDW, formed of oversized carved leather hardcover books (13.5 x 9 inches or 35 x 23 cm), printed on both thick glossy paper (main paret) and mat paper (scripts), and featuring a coloured satin ribbon bookmark. If the series is edited by Chris Ryall, this collection is edited by Justin Eisinger and designed by Robbie Robbins (with Bill Tortolini on the first volume). So far there have been three volumes published (very approximately once a year). Note that the second volume displayed here (Head Games), is the Red Label IDW Limited edition version (different color and IDW Limited logo on back cover), and on a picture below it is compared in size with the French edition of Head Games HC that has the same size than the original floppy comics.
Let's begin with Locke and Key I: Welcome To Lovecraft, published in December 2011 (296 pages, ISBN 978-1-61377-076-4, cover price 100$):
The book displays the same second and third of cover and a black satin ribbon bookmark. A picture below shows the excellent quality of the binding.
This book reprint the entire Welcome To Lovecraft series (originally published as 6 issues in 2008), which is the first part of the whole Locke & Key saga. The covers are included in virgin form (alongside the main material).
The bonus section begins with 10 pages dedicated to Gabriel Rodriguez art gallery:
Of course the main extra in this collection is the fact that each book features the entirety of Joe Hill's original scripts (here 114 pages). The book ends with short bios of the authors.
For the time being, concerning Locke and Key II: Headgames, I will let interested readers navigate to the IDW limited version wich is closely similar to the "regular" Special edition.
Now let's continue with Locke and Key III: Crown of Shadows, published in May 2014 (264 pages, ISBN 978-1-61377-759-6, cover price 100$):
The book displays the same second and third of cover and a black satin ribbon bookmark. A picture below shows the excellent quality of the binding.
